Art and Communication 5

I found a really interesting article to back up the argument I'm trying to make that the internet has had a profound (positive, for the most part) effect on art.
Article can be accessed here.

The lady in this article has made use of blogging sites, facebook, etc. to come in contact with other artists working with the same medium as her. Through the use of trading materials, etc. she was able to put together an entirely new piece that would have been impossible without her contact with these other artists. She makes the point that something like this would have been inconceivable just a decade ago.

So not only has the internet effected 'net art', but it has had an effect on artwork made with traditional mediums. Once again we are seeing it bridge the gap between artists. The artist in this article was in contact with, and used help from, people in multiple countries. If we think about that concept, I think it is quite amazing.

Not only did the internet help with this lady's creation of new, innovative art.. but it has in turn made it available for me (and other internet users) to read about her experience and to view her beautiful artwork.

You can view one of her blogs here: http://cyberfyberexhibition.blogspot.com/
